Coffee with a Cop — Bringing Community & Conversation Together
On May 22, Dalby Shoppingworld proudly hosted Coffee with a Cop in the Food Court from 10am – 1pm, and the response from our community was incredible.
More than 80 complimentary coffees and teas were shared throughout the morning, each one sparking a conversation, a smile or a meaningful connection.
Our local police officers were thrilled with the turnout and the warm welcome they received. In fact, the event was such a success that the Dalby Police team is now looking to make Coffee with a Cop a half‑yearly or annual tradition at the centre.
Coffee with a Cop is all about breaking down barriers and creating simple, friendly moments between police and the community they serve.
There were:
- No speeches
- No agendas
- No formalities
Just genuine conversations in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
Shoppers stopped by to ask questions, share concerns, learn more about community safety or simply say hello. Many commented on how approachable and easy‑going the officers were, and how valuable it was to have this kind of open, informal interaction.
As a thank‑you for taking the time to chat, visitors received a complimentary coffee or tea voucher to redeem at participating retailers. Thanks to the generosity of our cafés and the enthusiasm of our shoppers, more than 80 vouchers were handed out during the event.
Every cup represented a conversation — and every conversation helped strengthen the bond between police and the Dalby community.
